This does at least answer my question about whether Kate and her clone coming into contact would somehow rip a wormhole into the fabric of the universe. So far I think we're safe, and a swarm of locusts is not about to alight on The Ivy, although I'm withholding judgment on whether anything is awry until Sienna's next movie comes out. Whatever it is, if anyone actually likes it, we might be through the looking glass. Apple refreshes its MacBook Pro lineup
Apple on Tuesday updated its MacBook Pro notebook lineup with the biggest additions being the latest Intel Core 2 Duo chips, more memory and the multi-touch trackpad that's found in the MacBook Air. Apple also updated its MacBook lineup. Apple rolled out a 2.4 GHz, 15-inch MacBook Pro starting at $1,999. The refreshed lineup, which was flagged as imminent by Jason O'Grady last week, will be closely watched by Wall Street, which is increasingly worried about growth for Apple's iPod and iPhone businesses. The consensus view is that strong Mac sales will carry Apple for a few quarters. By the specs: 15.4-inch widescreen LED-backlit 1440 x 900 LCD display; 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 3MB shared L2 cache; 800 MHz front-side bus; 2GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, expandable to 4GB; 200GB Serial ATA hard drive running at 5400 rpm, with Sudden Motion Sensor; A slot-load 8x SuperDrive with double-layer support (DVD+/-R DL / DVD+/-RW / CD-RW) optical drive; NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB GDDR3 memory; DVI-out port for external display (VGA-out adapter included, Composite/S-Video adapter sold separately); Built-in Dual Link support for driving Apple 30-inch Cinema HD Display; Built-in iSight video camera; Gigabit Ethernet port; Built-in AirPort Extreme 802.11n wireless networking and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR; ExpressCard/34 expansion card slot; Two USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire 800 port and one FireWire 400 port; One audio line in and one audio line out port, each supporting both optical digital and analog; Multi-Touch trackpad and illuminated keyboard; and 85 Watt Apple MagSafe Power Adapter.
Organic rules roost as chicken flies off shelves
One contributor from Fife to an online debate about the subject wrote last week: "One supermarket in Glenrothes has had none at all since these programmes went out."Another said: "In Lanark, at the local supermarket, the free-range chickens were nearly sold out and other people at my work also commented on the same thing happening at their local stores."From now on, it's only free range in our house because standard chicken farming should not be supported by our money."Last night, a spokesman for Sainsburys said its customers in Scotland had been buying free-range or organic chickens in vast numbers. The programmes fronted by Oliver and Fearnley-Whittingstall included images of birds kept in spaces smaller than an A4 piece of paper and spending virtually 24 hours a day in near-darkness.Oliver concentrated on chickens being raised to satisfy the demand for cheap food whilst Fearnley-Whittingstall set up two poultry farms, one free range, the other intensive to try and highlight the differences in both technique and quality of life for the birds. However, many consumers are continuing to buy battery chickens and their eggs despite a recent RSPCA survey showing 75% of the British public thought supermarkets should only sell organic or free-range poultry products.A spokesman for the charity added: "Since recently discovering that standard chickens were farmed in poor conditions these people now buy chickens that have had a better life."Nearly three out of four people feel supermarkets should only sell higher welfare chicken such as Freedom Food, free-range or organic."This directly supports the RSPCA's January campaign in which we asked people to sign a petition calling on supermarkets to sell only higher-welfare chicken by 2010.

Dee, are these the questions? I shall do my best... 1. Why should Gay people get special treatment over other alternative lifestyles? I'm not quite sure how to answer this question, for the definition of "alternative lifestyles" seems open to interpretation. I will say that I don't think recognizing a gay marriage necessarily constitutes "special treatment". I would like to think that the acceptance of the concept of gay marriage would come organically, where the general population comes to the conclusion rather than having the Courts thrust the recognition upon society. However, I have my doubts as to whether or not this is a realistic hope. I believe that much of the resistance to societal changes comes about because the changes are forced on society without society being ready to acknowledge those changes.
NFL Wire Notes | Parcells headed for Miami
Parcells and Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga agreed Wednesday on a four-year contract to be Miami's vice president of football operations, according to ESPN, which employs the two-time Super Bowl-winning coach as an analyst. The Dolphins declined to comment, only saying no contract has been signed, and no one at Huizenga's business office was authorized to comment when reached by The Associated Press. Parcells, who previously coached the Giants, Patriots, Jets and Cowboys, is apparently set to return to the NFL. "Really?" defensive lineman Vonnie Holliday said. "You can't control it. But somebody like the Big Tuna, regardless of who's in the front office or who's not, brings a lot of respect and a lot of credibility with him. ... If you're a free agent out there, that might draw you in." The Falcons announced Parcells, 66, turned them down.

Components of functional fitness and movement were explored using this gymnastic equipment. Students practiced safe landings from jumps, and increased flexibility and strength through climbing and swinging. Body awareness became apparent while crawling through, around and over equipment. Students were engaged and motivated by the "new" apparatus that was available; some adults even tried it. All agreed that this was a fun unit to work out with, as well as a great learning experience. Ruby Van Meter Pam Carberry, food service manager at Calvin Community, provides a variety of experiences in the food service area for students in the Collins/Harvey homerooms.
